Developed by Dr Michel Langlade, the reciprocal arch and mini chin cup offer a comfortable, effective and safe alternative to headgear. Since the appliance is more comfortable to wear, especially during the hours of sleep, patient compliance problems are minimized.

The reciprocal arch appliance is worn 24 hours per day with Class II elastics, applying a reciprocal force to both arches. It may be removable or ligated to the upper arch. The reciprocal chin cup is worn at home to protract the lower arch and increase the maxillary headgear force making the dental correction faster and easier.
